In today’s world, every one can write something but for writing such thing it needs some intelligence and wisdom with which writer’s view can be expressed so that at the same time it reflects the society in emotions and feelings of other. There are two kinds of column in newspapers, one is thatin which there is critical/funny commentary on the political and social conditions of daily basis. Sometimes, writer evenenlightens the foolishness of religious matters. Other kind is that in which there is funny along with beautiful literature.The positions of these columns arepersistent.

Column is such a journalisticgenrewhich published in newspapers and magazines under the same tittle/headline.That genre is for the advice on the fresh events and situations whichinforms the writer’s thoughts and ideas as well as personality. It is not necessary that the expressed idea be on any onesubject but rather it can bring the whole life under the discussion. The difference between article and column is that an article carries little bit personal opinion, however column is consist on whole personal opinion. Column’s style can be serious and non-serious andalso funny. It is also possible thatthere is moralities, advices or other interestingmatters in it. But, It is necessary to have connection with its latest situation similarly is the reflection of writer’s perspective and personality. Then, that subject may be the fashion of women, foreign policy or inflation etc. Therefore, writer’s strong opinion is necessary in column. Under the permanent titles, columnist expresses feelings and sometimes emotionsin the context of latest situations and events. So, column can not be bound in the exclusive style.That saying of French naturalist applies correctly that man is different from an other. So what ever one is writing is his style.At one-time author’s signon the column was understood as compulsory.The famous English writerwrote a letter to Oscaroid telegraph newspaper thatit will be known by style that whose writing is this, it does not need any signature. As the style of column can be from serious, funny, critical, non-serious to anything. A wise man had written that understanding the circle of style is so large as like the smile of Mona Lisa.

It seems by above mentioned things thatas many writers so many styles. However,bold-writing columns can be divided with two ways.One regarding thematic, other in terms of style and approach.

Kinds of column

Pertaining the styles, columns have these kinds:

(1)             Sarcastic, (2) serious, (3), Debate, (4) straight forward advices and intensions (5) critical opinion, perspective or give and take of ideas (6) commentary on the concise news (7) voice of public in which Lord’s opinion and his sayings are involved (8) Gossips and rumours (9) discussions (10) Taking out one’s inner grudge (11) Diary style (12) Answers of questions.

The basic aim of column is not just to entertain but to give knowledge, explanation of information and knowledge, teaching and explaining,to inform the effects of it in the importance of news and event. Either by showing event’s backdrop that it is an alone oris only with regularity and there have been many such events. Thus, to identify that how it can be effective on the reader.It can be said that the basic principle of column, hence, is to be understoodas furnishing the entertainment. But as it gives information in a exclusive path as well as describes the consequences of explaining specific circumstances and situations. So as the interpreter, columnist extracts the news. It Unequivocally and logically givesshape ofstory to the effective sentences. By which, a reader forms the opinion. As forming the story, columnist gave the internal knowledge of box. So, it helps to give opinion even also being said as column throughcritical-fun, phraseology, and way of explaining. Those things which can not publish in other formats or news in newspaperbut can publish through columns.So, it can be said that this is a such opinion that can not publish in newspapers or in other place but can be published in columns.

Calligraphy is a creative action to some extent. It carries proverbs, comparisons, phrases, gestures, expressions and interpretations.There exists metaphors. Shakespeare says, “my best habitis that i present the old words in new ways”. Means a columnist present the words and events in new ways.

Wherefrom does content come?

Coming of column’s idea is not romantic matter that you are standing beside window and ideaof column would come. At once, columnist comes like the light of electricity and returns with laughing, column’s content comes from the latest news, observations, interviews, investigation of people,discussion with people and reading books through studying to situationsand to people.For column writing, advisors said thatalways read 200 pages, write one page and observe the 21 things. Try to observe things in a way that it has to write column. Observe the cup of tea as you have to write a column on it. See from different angles that where from it starts and where it has to be done. The column is fun piece and lightweight as you are trying to write for explanation by little things. Churches, villages and words are played with, but remember that language does not fall into circle of lost person.

Nasrullah Khan, a respected Urdu columnist, said of one of his contemporaries that he read a sketch about a disabled man, in which he wrote, "He used to be typing as if he were shrinking, from that day on.  Gave it a read. The column is written in haste, time is short.

Before, columns were written for makingunderstand to people, beaware,creating awareness and educate others and also that time passed.Such columnists came which follow the public who likes “ade o”. So these columnist saidthey will write which the public likes to read.

Who are the columnists?

Columnists are those who are association in themselves, who have experty and experience of life and different institutions. Which he writes then sensible words and expressions, cahnging to the situation.  An English critic might say that calligraphy is, in fact, like a good marriage.  Constant work is hard work, writing in one hit is not an easy task.  A good column, written every week, and then it has to continue for years.

 Great columnists have one thing in common: Permanent taste.  If you want to be a columnist, hard work, perseverance and patience should be part of your personality.  Remember that columnar lighting is a baking dish.  Don't rush

 In such cases the narrator goes into his diary, but it is important for him to take the interest of the people with him.

 The column reflects the personality of the author.  It allows him to write about the subject with unique style and particular style.  The columnist can use more than one approach to personalize his column.

 Integrated Approach: Usually appears in a political column in which a single topic is discussed.  This style is good for people who want to write on the same topic.

 Occasional Styles: Some relevant and irrelevant events and stories and observations are linked into one column.  Sometimes it happens that the columnist fills in the events of today's events, but these irrelevant facts somehow depend on each other.

 The topic in the column is yours but you give your opinion to please others.

 Ershad Ahmed Haqqani's writings in Urdu are classified as dry columns.  But if one begins to read, he does not say before, and the narrator Hasan Tarerd's style of telling the story is wrathful. He is writing daily.

 You pick a topic to make up for it. The brain will start searching for information and events related to Google search engine.  One thing to keep in mind is that the reader should have a pleasant morning for themselves.  It is important that the column starts with an interesting total flood.  For example, you write that I came to Tulsa this morning.  Why does the human being live?  Which is a tricky question. Obviously for your children, then why is Sheikh Tali, Shaykh Rashid living?

 As such short stories have taken their place in the literature.  Similarly the art of calligraphy has flourished.  All is believed to be the legend of the Thai Urdu columnist.  Says that there are four basic things to a column.  Study, training, theory and behaviour.  He says you cannot be a columnist without language and faith.  He cites the tree as an example.  He will look at the tree with a single glance, with a different look, with a third look at the bird, financially yet again.  All will see and use it according to your own needs and taste.  At the same time, the penman, from his angle, tells the facts to the world.  Consequently, awareness of thought and culture is essential for columns.
