Travelogue on Punjab road trip
It was a
sudden plan to go on a short road trip for a week towards Punjab to have some
good time with family by exploring beautiful places, food and nature over
there. We travelled from Hyderabad to Lahore, in between our first stop where
we had lunch was Sukkur and then the other stop was Multan. It almost took us
12 hours to reach Lahore, we stayed there for 2 days in which we visited the
famous anarkali bazaar from where we shopped a lot in very reasonable price, we
went to Minar-e-Pakistan, Badshahi Mosque, and fort food-street on the same day
as these were next to each other. Next day we had delicious dinner at monal
restaurant, and of course we always have some room for desserts so for that we
tried out Jaybee’s sizzling hot brownie with ice cream, I would definitely
recommend this place especially for dessert lovers. We also went to fortress
mall, hyper star mall, and packages mall. We also travelled in Orange line (Lahore
metro) and I was really impressed by this project, it was a very affordable
transportation system in which one can easily travel by avoiding traffic and
pollution. The other day we had to leave for Islamabad in morning.
While
traveling from Lahore to Islamabad I was amazed and continuously gazing over
those beautiful views and nature that I was not even ready to blink my eyes for
a second. Islamabad is an absolute beauty, trust me with this. We were there
for 2 days and had our stay at the most beautiful, Marriot Hotel. We had a very
attractive and eye pleasing view from our gallery. Here we visited lake view
park, it’s one of the best picnic points in Islamabad, it’s a wild life and
amusement park as well, it contains Pakistan’s largest bird cage. We also
enjoyed water boat voyage on the lake. The only negative point of the place was
that there were no security guards or life guards to protect or safe people
from drowning or in case of any emergency, other-wise over all it was a good
place to visit once. Then we went to Monal restaurant right after sunset and
the view was magical. It’s a must place to visit, everything including food,
atmosphere, presentation, hygiene, and view was just perfect. Although the
roads were quite steep and scary as it is located on height but it was worth
it. The day continued by visiting Faisal Mosque and malls, as I’m a crazy
shopaholic I never leave malls to pay a visit, so basically we paid a visit to
almost every mall of Islamabad which were near-by. I also had the mouth-watering
momos there and the best macrons from mocca which were actually on my wish list
to eat. The food over there never disappointed us whether it was from an
expensive high class restaurant or a dhaba it always satisfied our cravings and
everything was tooth some delicious. The weather used to get a little cold at
night over there. We left Islamabad in 2 days and head over to our next
destination which was Murree, and I was the most excited one among all to go
there.
I have
always heard about the beauty of these places but had never been there before
but when I eye witnessed myself those views and sceneries now I am out of words
to explain that how pleasing that was. It was literally a treat to my eyes, I
just wanted to capture every single thing in my phone but the camera was not
doing enough justice with the gorgeousness of the vista. We stop over there for 1 day so
without taking any rest we went to visit to Murree’s most famous market, Mall Road
and experienced the ronak of the town there, enjoyed the best matka chai and
hot chocolate in chilly weather over there, and also bought a lot of dry fruit
from a pathan at a good price. After that we went to Pindi point, it’s a
hilltop around a 10 minute drive from Mall Road. It had a breath taking view of
high mountains and forests of Murree, had a chairlift ride which was so fun, my
sister tried to ruin that fun as she is acrophobic (people who are afraid of
heights) but somehow I managed to ignore her and was back in my fun zone. Ps:
those who have acrophobia avoid riding it and spoiling others fun. Well we
headed towards Bhurban it was 15 km away from Murree, where we went to the
luxurious resort Pearl Continental, had an appetizing dinner over there and
then moved towards the main road leading to Azad Kashmir on the same day.
En route
Kashmir, was the most scariest, spine-chilling, hair-raising yet so adventurous
and audacious journey of my life. Kashmir was not on the list to visit
actually, but my uncle had some work there in Bagh, town of Kashmir so we had a
chance to visit Kashmir too. It was the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen in
my entire life. The view of mountains, greenery and river was breathtaking and
heavenly. Kashmir is often dubbed as “Heaven on earth” and there is no lie in
it. Though the road was so tiring but I was so happy to witness those views
with my eyes. We had our stay at Deewan-e-Aziz international hotel for one day.
There are abundant facilities of lodging, shopping and dining throughout the
district, its only attractive for people/tourist those who are fond of natural
glamour displaying areas. After being there for a day we went our ways back and
stopped at Murree, and then after resting there for a while we left for Lahore
stayed a night there and left for Sindh the other day, our first stop while
traveling from Lahore to Sindh was multan, we bought multans famous sohan halwa
from there to gift it to our relatives as, our second stop was Sukkur where we
ate food at a dhaba style restaurant, rested for a while and then headed straight
towards Hyderabad. We reached Hyderabad safely around 7 in the morning. It was
a trip to remember.
