It’s been a while our family visited any place, thus we decided to go somewhere new and peaceful, after thinking all day about the possible places we agreed on the new lake of Hyderabad which emerged naturally after the heavy rainfall.

We decided on Sunday as it’s weekend and everyone was at home, we left for it around 11 am as it’s a bit far from Qasimabad, we packed some food and drinks as we heard it does not has any resort yet. We took Autobahn road, through that we reached at fateh chowk and after asking for directions we got on the road which leads to Tando Muhammad khan. After that, we again had to ask for directions because there were not any signs which may help us to our destination.

Soon after driving for a while, there came the bumpy and rocky road, it is quite astonishing to witness yellow rocky little hills and mounds, my reverie broke when with a sudden jolt the car stopped, my uncle and brother stepped down to examine the car only to find a punctured tire, kids however were enjoying this a lot as they all stepped down the car and were running here and there, while my uncle and brother changed the tire, luckily we had a spare tire and after everything cleared, we started our journey again and within 10 to 15 minutes of further drive, we reached there.

Here comes the main matter, firstly I couldn’t believe my eyes what I was seeing, secondly I was at wonder over the beauty nature has created. Surely it was a sight to see, the lake is surrounded by those yellow mounds and hills, it was covering a large area, few patches of greenery were giving the scene a beautiful touch and increased its attraction. The water was an other thing, usually we don’t encounter such things in our area, it is greenish blue and was crystal clear, you can see the stones and surface and due to air, it was making small tides so there was a rhythmic motion in the water. The area was quite windy because of the height but it is again the speciality of Hyderabad.

Around 1:30 pm, the children were getting hungry and we decided to have lunch, we spread the mat and sat atop the soft cloth, it was a small picnic and rather refreshing. The serene view appeared peaceful and the gusts of wind provide just as much conforming sound. After lunch, I played with my nephews for a while, we made sure to take selfies and recorded videos of the incredible scenery.

As we were enjoying, an accident took place that rooted everybody to their spot, the sad event considered a boy who fell into the water as he was standing on the edge of the hill for a mere selfie, I wondered at the carelessness of the person to risk their life over a single picture, luckily his family was there to rescue him and the water itself was shallow around the area he fell, thus he managed to swim back to the shore with the help of few others. This incident had me shaken and I became more concerned for my nephews and kept my eyes on them at every step, this place is not for children which I figured after arriving there, however now nothing else was to be done yet being extra careful, in especial with my two nephews, who acted to be on sugar rush.

It was quite risky over the scene because the water was deep, apparently it looks fine but it hold some areas where the water is rather deep, it reflects dark greenish hue and if you happen to be with children specially like my hyperactive nephews, I advise to be extra careful and attentive, the hills carry no fence and anyone can fall in to the water and suffer the consequences if reckless; a boundary is necessary around the hills to protect the visitors from unwanted incidents.

Around 3:00 pm, the place was getting crowded, people were arriving with their families to enjoy and we ourselves had also spent quite enough time observing along with absorbing the natural beautiful view. It drives you to believe that you were present in some northern area, where the water is incredibly clear and naturally greenish blue in color. We decided to head back home and struggled to convince my nephews as they wished to play more. When driving back, I was wondering whether it may be like this forever, for the water to be just as clear when I visit next time, the answer came in negation because I didn’t find any proper management there, no security was present to survey and check that people do not litter in the water and the land.

I personally liked it a lot; this place could be appreciated but it is especially for those who dearly love nature and prefer peaceful and calm places, yet it should be preserved as it is, management should take responsibility of this natural gift to Hyderabad, I had to be afraid because I witnessed no such work in sight. They should build it like a resort and also add stalls for snacks and drinks, however the maintenance of proper cleaning is rather necessary, considering the popularity and the amount of visitors it bears, there shall be difficulty for management to maintain it, as we always look after things when they shape their exterior worst.

My overall experience of visiting natural Lake of Hyderabad was rather pleasant, I enjoyed every bit of it and thought to bring my mother as well on the next visit. I have my worries regarding it because I absolutely do not wish for it to end up like everything we overlooked.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

                                                                                                          (Margaret Wolfe)

I find this quotation to be relatable to the sight I witnessed there, beauty indeed is in the eye of the beholder; beauty is said to be subjective and based on personal perceptions, I may like it a lot but it does not matter other has liked it just the same if not more, as I have said above it is not for everyone but for those who love beauty and nature.
