City in the lap of mountains
Shahroz Aqeeque
When lockdown dismantled, everyone was trying to straight their
legs. these were monsoons which helped people
to remove their imprisonment of five months long. Though Covid-19 harm was still
there. People were planning tours. So did I
I had never been to Mithi before, So I thought these monsoons are better
to visit Mithi and surroundings specially Karoonjhar mountains.
I headed towards east, leaving Umerkot on the 20th day of August. It will
take you one hour if you are traveling Mithi from Umerkot. Roads are such wide
as heart of locals and smooth like folk music of Thar.
On the way to Mithi there
were joys on the both side of road people were cultivating their fields some
were with their cattle, children at some
distance selling Mashroom, folk music in tractors were enhancing the
spirit of people as they have received bunch of happiness after years.
Stepped down at 11AM at Mithi Bus stop along with
bag, full with the needy stuff of
two day use. Called friend to pick me up from Bus stop, my legs were pushing me
towards hotel which was steps away from me for a cup of tea, yet he come.. It was normal Bus
stop hotel. So , I didn’t noticed the name of that hotel, but can’t forget the
taste of the tea, last sip of tea made me realize that I would
try it when I come again.
When you are alone you talk to yourself I did same, though it was my first
time in Mithi but surroundings were so
comfortable as I am familiar of this place I can sense the reason , this was
because of language, everyone was
speaking the same language of mine, air waved, suddenly
a faced arrived in front me. He was Jasvaant. He came to receive me, We left hotel , praising the tea. I thought I
could tell my friend how tired I was. But that all vanished with the cup of tea
.
I had lunch at Jasvant place, with seasonal vegetable of
Thar, Mashroom (Khunbi). There is myth that Mashroom growth is depends upon the thunder voice, let whatever the truth is but taste was hard to
forget.
We left home as we had lunch, it was about noon of 2Pm but
day was covered with black clouds. Sun was not visible that time I realized it is hard to identify the
directions without the sun. Thinking about
nature noticing clouds shapes reached at Gadi Bhitt, standing on Gadi Bhitt will let you feel like you are
superior creature, because whole Mithi city can been seen clearly from that
palace
Mithi is well infrastructured city with good governance road
and its drainage system was quit good, though it was heavy rain the day before
I visited Mithi. But It was clean and clear.
I noticed the area is culturally rich, simple lifestyle
majority of the population of Mithi is Hindu.
I wondered that how beautiful is it. Earth was wearing the
green clothes and clouds were like umbrella., Green grasslands, simple and kind
hearted people and lot of unique things. Their daily routine and lifestyle is totally lovable . After that I wished
to visit the huge mountains known as Karoojhar. We started heading towards
Karoonjhar. When we left Mithi towards
Karoojhar I couldn’t resist the reality this is Thar or somewhere, very wide
roads both-side greenery, separate foot paths, lot of road indicators and also
sign boards but unfortunately this was for Coal Site area. After coal area I saw the
real image of thar, destroyed roads, no light facilities, no network . In route
towards Karoonjhar there comes Bhalwa, A village consist of 30 40 Semi-paka houses.
Bhalwa is the village of Marvi . History says that “ Umar Soomro kidnapped
Marvi from Bhalwa” A well as a sign constructed their. Bhlawa is not far away
from Karoojhar , but road was too damaged we felt this is at least 15 to 20
kilo meters away from main road. When we reached Bhlawa I saw the well of Marvi from where
Umar kidnapped her, and there is wonderful museum . In museum lots of
historical things presented such like as weapons, pottery, of Umar and Marvi. I
felt very relaxed at this point because
I listened the folk singer singing in a hut with Tambooro. We left Bhalwa for Nangar Pakar,
after one hour travel we reached at Vera Waah check post and after that
we Entered Nagar Parkar .Entering in
Hugs of Karoojhar I saw peacocks in mammoth
crowd for the first time ever I saw number of peacocks I must say Nangar is
city of peacocks, Very charming and overwhelming city located In hugs of the
mountains. At first we visited Sardharo,
It's pleasant tour point along with this
it is also religious point for the
believers of Hindu religion , from the peak of mountain, A temple consist of stones
, beautiful view of the city is also seemed from this temple.
we then traveled for
the the Kaasbo village which is widely known for its beauty. People believe that
Kaasbo is beauty of Parkar . People of the village are admirable
and sensitive.
I saw the Jain temple
which has huge history, and their connection with Nagar was as ancient as history
is many of temples are in worst condition, this area was called Pari-Nagar in
the past Jasvaant told me the people who were living here were concerned with
jain-maat ( jain religion) Bhodesar Mosque. Civilization of Ancient period.
Notable thing is I didn’t felt any
religious extremism and discrimination in Temples or Mosque, Hindus were visiting mosques and Muslims visited temples.
I felt this is the city of love and tolerance not only Nangar Parkar but whole
Thar has brotherhood
Had a dinner in Nangar Parkar, It was about to rain again,
lightning over the mountains was giving such scary scene for me it was not less
then adventure. A day was not sufficient to capture the natural beauty of
Tharparkar.
It was an amazing journey, for me it was hard to depart the
city, I made the promise with the spots to visit them again .
