A
trip to Al Hesi Beach the red sea
Some people were born to swim under water and I’m not one
of them. In the month of August 2020. the month that I was born in, I had a
trip of my life that actually felt like that I was reborn again. I woke up early
in the morning like any other day and I had my breakfast with family while
having my breakfast my phone rang, I picked it up and it was my brother telling
me to go with him to the mall for shopping, I didn’t know for what purpose we
are going so he told me that he with his friends arranged a trip to a place
called Al Hesi Beach. I got excited when I heard about it because it’s an
amazing place so we stopped by the mall to get all the stuff we need. My
brother and his friends are really obsessed with fishing and diving therefore we
bought fishing and diving gears. Mask, Snorkel, fins, divebooties, fishing
rods, lures, reels, fishing spears, dive torch, and fishing guns. The beach is
( 343 km) away from Al Madinah we arrived there in 3 and half hours. When we reached
there the coast guard center took our identity cards as well as gave us diving
and fishing instructions to follow it also to make sure that all the members
return their homes safely. I was feeling a bit nervous and scared because it
was my first time doing that, I didn’t have any idea about fishing or diving so
I took the risk and challenged myself and moved on. The friends who were
experienced in this did a lot of help they were co operative with me till the
end of the day. We opened the tackle bag that we brought and started
preparation. Everyone took the item that he is good at using. Before entering
the water we discussed the emergency signals that if someone had a problem
underwater or maybe his foot stuck between the rocks or any kind of difficulty that
might put his life in danger. Afterwards we entered the water I was wearing dive
booties and a snorkel with a spear in my hand since I was the less experienced
man in the group I took the light and easy item. There were so many rocks in
the beginning that it was so difficult for me to get to the deep side faster. It
took me 15 minutes to reach there walking slowly taking the right steps to make
sure my foot doesn’t slip and I get myself injured. When I finally got there I started
looking for fishes with the help of the mask and snorkel after 10 minutes i
have changed my spot because there were only small fishes then I kept changing
my spot and then after struggling for about half an hour I caught a blue crab, I
was so happy that I caught something better than nothing but then, I put him
into the water and let him go out of sympathy plus we aren’t Chinese to eat it.
After that I wanted to try the fishing rod which is way too difficult to handle
compared to the spear. I took my position and threw the fishing line far away and
waited a while after that I pulled the reel hoping that i could catch something
but unfortunately it didn’t happen so I tried again and again but I got nothing
I didn’t know what to do or what
mistakes I’m making so I asked for help some of members he told me that it is because
of the bait size, sometimes the fish needs bigger bait in order to to catch it.
He also said always the bait you choose will depend on the location and the
type of fish you want to catch. After I listened to his guidance immediately
worked on it and did exactly the same and tried again I threw the fishing line and
waited as usual after 5 minutes pulled out the reel but it was so hard, the
idea which came at that moment is this might be a fish, I was so happy I then
called someone for help but still he couldn’t then I had to dive in to see
what’s the problem, I found that the hook was stuck with the rocks so I decided
to cut the reel off and returned disappointed. Surely if we had a boat that
would have been easier but in that particular place there were no boats not
even a human being just us, we swam far away to get to the much deeper spot. I
got really tired so I went back to the car I took off the diving boots and got
some rest. Then I decided to wear fins for the first time ever and this time I entered
the water to discover a whole new world with free diving. Diving is much more
fun than fishing because not only you will see a beauty of the sea but, the knowledge
you will gain is valuable. The under water world filled with color, life and
beauty. I felt like I’m in a museum but as a diver you must be aware of all
your surroundings all the time, and do not touch anything as long as possible. Fishes
are incredibly fast besides the categories of every fish and every critter I
saw made me think of another visit. The more I dive down the more pressure I
get plus cold water and limited light but such circumstances like these you
need to have torch and a knife incase of something grabs your leg. I’m a good
swimmer and a great diver but not outside the pool. Diving in a sea is more
complex than the pool it requires proper training and right instructor or else it
might cause you actual death. By the end of the day I finned right towards the
surface after a long time of enjoyment. The good news is we caught a lot of
fishes I was fascinated by all the species.
